I love fun glasses

I probably have one of the largest collections of prescription eyeglasses of anyone in the world. I am extremely near-sighted and have worn glasses or contacts most of my life, so they have become a major part of my self-concept and image. I also like it that glasses symbolizes that a person is smart, educated and well-read (which I am). A few days ago, i got contact lenses, but I have to get several new pairs of glasses anyway, because I can't see to read or at midrange. Of course I also had to get some stylish new sunglasses.

Cool new dancing shoes

The last few months I have been taking classes in both belly dancing and latin dance aerobics (Zumba). I've also had a lot of fun buying and making costumes and dancewear. I saw these new sandals yesterday at www.onstagedancewer.com, and I had to get them. They are called the "Dansurf 2" by manufacturer Sansha. While they don't particularly match my belly dance costumes, I'll enjoy wearing them in class to protect my feet. I also like to wear this style with casual clothes on evenings and weekends.

Coachella festival was the place to be

Although I rarely get to California, i wish I could have gone to the Coachella music festival to see Paul McCartney. I've been a big fan of him and the Beatles since I was in kindergarten. I'd also love to check out the fashions, like these from www.style.com.

Love this unusual look

This is a picture of Sasha Pivovarova from www.styledumond.com. I like it mostly because its unusual and original. I also like to cover my thin hair with hats, scarves and wigs and this is a cute alternative. I am also a crocheter and I like the layers of white fur, crocheted vest and tweed suit. She looks very sophisticated!

Brazilian exercise clothes are cute and sexy

These cute workout clothes are all Brazilian style workout clothes from www.bodybybrazil.com. Although they are expensive, I would love to own some of these. Unfortunately, in my town, women my age seem to wear the most baggy ugly outfits possible when they are working out.

What are they thinking? I would rather try to look cute.

Older women feel ignored by fashion industry

Although I am not quite 50, I can understand why some older women feel ignored by the fashion industry. I read a really great article today about a woman who decided to abandon the fashion industry when she turned 60, because she felt that they were ignoring her and others of her age.

In todays Guardian, at www.guardian.co.uk, Alison Lurie is interviewed from her Florida home. I guess that she and some of her friends are sort of boycotting the fashion industry. Refusing to buy their clothes, cosmetics and hair coloring products. Alison and her friends have a good point. They say that they feel a certain freedom from having to keep up with society's expectations that a woman should fit stereotyped notions of beauty.

I have noticed that there are not very many women my age who have fashion blogs. I wonder why?

Indian brides are amazing

If I ever get married again, I think that I'm going to have to find an indian man so that I can wear one of these beautiful and exotic saris. Maybe I'll get one even if I'm not getting married. I'll just have to figure out someplace else to wear it. Maybe a good indian restaurant?

If you like wigs, I recommend this one

I bought this wig from Exceptionalhair.com and wanted to say that I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wig that is inexpensive and good quality. The hair is synthetic but it has a very realistic look when you see it in person. I have worn many wigs and hairpieces over the years and this one seems to be very comfortable and easy to wear. It also stays very securely on the head. I bought it to use sometimes as part of a dancing costume and I can flip it around quite a bit and it stays on my head really well. Whether you are looking for a wig to wear as a costume, or looking to cover hair loss, this is a good one.

If I were a rock star, I'd wear this...

These beautiful clothes are from designers Sinha and Stanic. It's their fall 2009 collection on style.com.

With all the great beading and feathers, they would have to be more than I could afford. But one can still dream...

Love this dancer: Sharon Kihara

This beautiful tribal belly dancer is Sharon Kihara. If you've never heard of her, I suggest you check her out on youtube. Her dancing and costumes are among the most beautiful I've ever seen. Her moves are amazingly beautiful and snakelike.
