Fustany.com is having a handbag design competition
The following information was taken from the fustany.com website:
Design your own Handbag Competition powered by Tasche
We’ve decided it was time to challenge all fashion lovers, trendsetters and talents. Design your own Handbag! And the competition powered by Tasche goes the following:
1. These 4 designs by Tasche should be used as a guideline in terms of shapes & sizes, but the rest is up to your imagination.
2. Design the bag of your dreams with a sketch, illustration or any program you’ll need to aid you with this challenge.
3. All sketches and illustrations should be submitted to info@fustany.com with the title “Design your own Handbag”.
4. We’ll be choosing the best designs and add them to Fustany’s page on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/fustany where everyone is entitled to vote for their favorite designs, through comments and likes.
5. The person getting the most votes and likes on Facebook will have her/his design custom made by Tasche and sent over to them by the end of the competition.
Some competition guidelines:
- Sizes: (choose any of the below sizes to work with)
1. Juliette 36 x 24 x 18 cm (width, height, depth)
2. Grace: 30 x 18 x 8 cm
3. Tichou: 31 x 20 cm
4. Tina: 20 x 13 x 8 cm
- Colors, Patterns, Designs & material used: up to your imagination

Depression-era clothing styles
These wonderful photos from the United States depression era came from the following website:
http://blogs.denverpost.com/captured/2010/07/26/captured-america-in-color-from-1939-1943/2363//
These images, by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information, are some of the only color photographs taken of the effects of the Depression on America’s rural and small town populations. The photographs and captions are the property of the Library of Congress and were included in a 2006 exhibit Bound for Glory: America in Color.

Its fun to play at Boutiques.com
A few weeks ago I noticed that there were several ads for a website called http://www.boutiques.com/ and I decided to check it out. When you go this site, they have you select from a series of paired alternative outfits, until they have analyzed your style, and then they can recommend brands and "Boutiques" based on your preferred style. You can also select pictures of clothing items to post in your own customized boutique. Its almost like a game for the fashion enthusiast, and you can get some great recommendations on clothes that you like. My boutique is call Liz Blair's Fun and Funky Fashions, and features fun items, often at a fairly low price. The address for my boutique is at http://www.boutiques.com/lunr?storefront=&boutique_id=102924
