Here's a truly original look from Givenchy's fall 2008 couture collection. It appears that they have large spats covering their feet and legs. I might like to try something like this but wonder about the practicality. It looks like they might drag a lot on the floor and get dirty and worn out quickly.

I them - although I'd have to think about how to wear them. Luckily, I don't have nearly enough money to be able to afford them.
They kind of remind me of the Chanel boots from a few years ago that looked more like pants over boots.
