Luna Lovegood is my favorite Harry Potter character

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Several people have told me that I remind them of this character, and I can see the resemblance.  Luna seems very creative and artsy, and is caught up in her own dreams and fantasies, and some of the other kids don't understand her.  I read some where that the actress who plays her in the movies (Evanna Lynch) is herself a talented artist, and made the famous lion hat herself that she wore in the movie.

These are NOT my original photos or drawings and were obtained from Google images.

My drawing of Speed Racer

I drew this picture for an art competition that is being held by http://www.maximilliangallery.com/.  The folks that own the license for the Speed Racer cartoon are looking for fresh images that respect the original drawings from the cartoon that ran in the 1960s.  This drawing incorporates a classic image on a new, original background, which was inspired by 60s artist, Peter Max.

Drawing of Katniss Everdeen by Terry Blas

Thanks for visiting my blog!

I love this illustration of Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games books.  In case you haven't read them yet, my 13 year old son and I agree that its one of the best stories to be written in recent years.  I like this picture of Katniss, because she looks really cool and futuristic.

This illustration was copied from http://www.terryblas.com/, Terry is an illustrator from Portland, Oregon in the USA.

Interior design on dresses by Mary Katrantzou

This designer was inspired to draw the interiors of houses on her dresses from looking at pictures in Archetechtural Digest magazine.  they are kind of busy, and would out of place in my small town, but I appreciate the innovation anyway!

Drawings of Katniss Everdeen, Heroine of The Hunger Games book

I've read a lot of good books this summer, but one of the best is the Hunger Games Trilogy.  My son read The Hunger Games as part of a seventh grade reading class and he told me it was the best book he ever read, so I decided to check it out.  I agree that it's a great story.  I don't want to give too much away, for those of you who haven't read it yet.  Although some of the story is sad and tragic, there are some happy and lighthearted moments as well.

Some of the most humorous parts of the story in my opinion are about Katniss and her stylists.  Yes, even kids being sent to their death have to look great on TV!  The book describes some really great outfits that are designed for Katniss by her lovable designer Cinna, who is one of her greatest friends and allies.  I found some fan drawings of Katniss on http://www.fanpop.com/ and thought I would share some here.
